Racking Solutions
Introduction
Vertical Heights Global provides all kinds of warehouse racks that can be used in warehouses, factories, and distribution centers throughout the United Arab Emirates. When you install a new system in your warehouse, factory, or distribution center, or update an existing one, our storage racking solutions will help you maximize the use of the area you have available for storage and maintain safety and efficiency in your daily operations.
Selective Pallet Racking systems are the most popular method of storing goods within Dubai warehouses, allowing direct access to each individual pallet prior to moving any other inventory. This type of rack system is best suited for companies who have numerous different Stock Keeping Units (SKUs) which will require frequent picking, providing an acceptable trade-off of storage space and accessibility.
VNA (Very Narrow Aisle) racking is built for facilities that want to maximize storage capacity by reducing aisle width to the minimum needed for specialized forklifts to operate. It’s a strong fit for high-volume warehouses in the UAE where floor space is limited but storage demand keeps growing.
Mobile racking is supported by electrically powered base units that move whole rows of shelves laterally so only one row can be accessed at any single time. The compaction of the racking allows for increased storage density over traditional stationary racking, and therefore is an excellent alternative for use in cold storage and archival storage environments where there is limited floor space.
The shuttle rack is designed to be used by a semi-automatic shuttle vehicle to move pallet loads from one side of a deep lane to another. This will reduce the amount of manual forklift use within the rack itself. The shuttle rack works best when used in high-volume applications that require storage of many units of the same item and have quick access to those items.
Rack Supported Mezzanine
A rack-supported mezzanine utilizes the racking system as the foundation for the higher working platform. In essence, it uses the racking system to create another layer of storage or picking area in a Dubai warehouse, while eliminating the need for an independent structural frame.
A multi-tiered racking system provides multiple walkable levels of shelving with staircases connecting the levels, which is most effective when you have large quantities of smaller items to be stored, but your workers will be picking those items with their hands, not using a forklift. This type of racking is commonly found in e-commerce fulfillment centers and parts warehouses where space needs to be used efficiently and products need to be organized across multiple levels of the facility.
Order Picking Racking
Order picking racks are designed to accommodate manual, human-to-item order picking. These racks have low shelf levels and walkways that can be used by employees instead of forklifts. This type of rack system is ideal for businesses that have a large number of orders, but a relatively small number of items per order. In these situations, the ability to quickly and accurately pick orders is more important than having a large quantity of items stored on pallets.
Cantilever racking employs columns that are supported by the rear wall of the rack and have arms attached to those columns. Since there are no front supports, cantilever racking is typically employed to store long and/or bulky items (e.g. pipe, lumber, steel) which can be loaded/unloaded from either side. Warehouses throughout the United Arab Emirates that handle construction or industrial materials utilize this type of storage system as well.
Medium duty racks are designed to hold weight greater than standard shelving units will support, yet do not need the load bearing capacity of heavy duty industrial pallet racking. This type of racking is often used to store boxed items, small machinery parts, and other types of packaged inventory which can be manually moved.
Benefits of a Warehouse Racking System
There are several reasons businesses across the UAE choose a proper warehouse racking system for their storage needs. The most obvious is better organisation – a well-planned layout makes it easier to locate stock, which saves time during picking and shipping.
Another big consideration for safety is that industrial racking holds large weights above the ground and reduces accidents in a busy warehouse environment. Additionally, a well-designed system allows for maximum use of vertical space, allowing warehouse storage racks to greatly expand capacity without having to make changes to the physical structure of the warehouse.
How to Choose the Right Warehouse Racking System
Choosing the correct storage rack in Dubai begins with knowing your inventory – whether it is heavy and/or palletized, you will require a more heavy duty and industrial type of racking system, whereas lighter weight stock could use a simpler, warehouse racking system. Additionally, the size of your available floor space and ceiling height are important considerations, as well as the ability of your business to expand into a larger racking system in the future without having to start over.
Budget plays a role as well, but it shouldn’t be the only factor – a cheaper racking system that doesn’t suit your load or layout ends up costing more in the long run. Our team can walk you through the options and recommend the right fit based on your actual warehouse conditions.

A warehouse racking system organizes stored items vertically using shelves to maximize the use of available floor space. The racking system also helps keep your inventory organized, easily accessible, and protected from potential damage.
Yes, we offer design, supply and installation of storage racking systems in warehouses across Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi with on-going support and maintenance.
Typically, storage racks are designed to accommodate larger and heavier palletized items that will be moved using a forklift. Shelving units, however, tend to accommodate smaller and lighter items that can be handled manually. Many warehouses use a combination of both types of storage systems based upon the types of items they store.
Yes, the warehouse storage rack systems we offer are designed to fit the specific needs of each individual warehouse facility (e.g. load capacity, aisle width, ceiling height) instead of being a standard layout that would require adjustments to suit your warehouse. A technical expert will schedule a site visit to evaluate your warehouse facility and provide recommendations for appropriate solutions.
